There was a time when I really didn’t like the color brown.
It felt dreary and dull to me.
Ugly and boring.
But then I saw a lady in a brown satin slip dress and my perspective changed.
All of the sudden, I saw it as rich and beautiful and comforting.
It was lavish and subtle.
Classic and demure.
I’ve been inspired by it since then and have gotten to bring home a few lovely palette pieces in the last few years.
Turns out, I needed the texture and depth and contrast of mixed fabrics for it to not just feel blah.
Now I love it!
I love the richness of it.
I love how it dances with my brunette hair.
I love how it exudes nature without being pompous.
I thrifted this skirt and wanted to wear it, and already had this top from a 2-piece dress.
The shoes were a recent score and today I got to enjoy them all together.
Now…to fix that ever-present “tan” line 🫣 Is it considered tan if one goes from white to cream?
