The self control of a 3-year-old ?

“What self control?” you may be asking. I mean, we’ve all known 3-year-olds, and typically that’s not one of the first things that comes to mind when we think of them ?

It may sound a bit ridiculous, but let me tell you a story ?

When I was 3, I opened the cupboard door under the kitchen sink and, of my own volition, by my own prompting, I threw away my blankie – see ya’ later ?

For context, this is me at around 3 years old.

I didn’t want to keep sucking my thumb ? and since I only sucked my thumb when I was holding my blankie, I decided to throw it away. #handled

And I haven’t sucked my thumb since ?

We often give ourselves so much slack, and so many excuses, when really – if a 3 year old can do it……

YOU CAN DO IT, too!

Hoping this infused some courage and grit inside of you to:

✅ recognize what you want to stop doing
✅ make the decision to knock it off
✅ remove the temptation that’s causing you to stumble
✅ stop doing that thing

With few exceptions, we really can make those changes when we simply utilize our self control. Let’s be grown ups (or 3-year-olds) about this ?

Rooting for you ?
