? God vs. ? Santa.
Is it really the rivalry it’s made out to be? Both competing for adoration and attention in this season?
I don’t believe so. I believe both are delightful, and one (Santa) is a sweet, earthly reflection of the other (God).
? God IS joy
? Santa is jolly
? God is generous
? Santa is generous, too
? God gives good and perfect gifts
? Santa gives gifts, too
? God loves welcoming and blessing kiddos
? Santa loves welcoming kiddos, too
? God speaks about bread and wine throughout the Bible
? Santa likes cookies with milk
? God provides for our needs AND wants
? Santa provides for our wants
? God created all the animals, including reindeer
? Santa likes reindeer, too
? God’s son, Jesus, is the reason for the season
? Santa admittedly doesn’t have anything on this one ?
? While I believe Eden didn’t have snow (if you have Biblical evidence counter to that, let me know – I’m always open to learning!), and was beautifully rich with vegetation and bountiful farmland and ? Santa Claus lives in the (freezing) North Pole, they’re otherwise quite similar in a lot of ways ?
Obviously, I’m not saying they’re the same. At all!
This post is for the folks who are so anti-Santa that they can’t let others enjoy him, and see how he actually represents God in a lot of beautiful ways ?
Sure, the world has done a great job of trying to strip Jesus from the CHRISTmas season, but…
❌Jesus can’t actually be erased.
❌Jesus can’t be canceled.
❌Jesus can’t be replaced by a jolly, fat man in a red suit.
? Jesus CAN be glorified, if WE choose to point people towards Him, in every scenario. Including ones involving Santa Claus ?
It’s up to us. We are to be in the world, and not of the world.
Unfortunately, because there’s so much “church hurt” (and offense is running at an all-time high these days ?), we get to be creative in how we welcome people into an environment where they can come to know God and His true character ?
So proud of @awakenchurchsd for inviting Santa Claus to join in our Christmas celebrations, as we spread GOD’s love throughout our communities! We’re reaching people that only Santa can reach, and then inviting them to know the Lord.
All are welcome here ? but you better believe that we love you enough to help you get any “of the world” toxicity out of your life!
You can still know about Santa Claus, and think he’s adorable, and enjoy the way he blesses kids – just don’t put your belief in him when God is your actual savior / provider / creator ?
