Sometimes you spend time with someone and you have to choose to not be offended, because you know their character (and there was no malicious intent).
Sometimes you spend time with someone and you have to choose to not be offended, even though you don’t know their character (and whether there was malicious intent).
Sometimes you don’t even spend time with someone and you have to choose to not be offended, because some people just have a way about them.
Being offended is ALWAYS, 100% of the time, without question, YOUR CHOICE.
It doesn’t matter if someone meant to offend you or not.
It doesn’t matter if what they said or did would be considered offensive by others.
It doesn’t matter if they recognize that they’re being offensive or they don’t.
YOU can ALWAYS choose to NOT be offended.
And, as someone who used to live perpetually offended in the past, I can assure you that carrying offense is heavy and exhausting, not to mention a complete waste of time and energy. It bears zero good fruit and heaps of rotten fruit.
If you find yourself constantly offended (perhaps, even at this post), then today is a great day to let go of ALL offense and start living fully free.
It’s possible … and sometimes it’s a repetitive and by-the-second decision because some people (or situations or organizations) just won’t quit!
BUT, you CAN rise above it and get in the habit of quickly rejecting offense before it has a chance to glom on!
Cheers to an offensive foul-free existence!
