GASP. It’s finally here…..!!
I finished my 2022 Vision Board today (March 3, 2022) and I gotta be honest – it was more of a tender process for me this year.
I’m a big believer in Vision Boards and Habakkuk 2:2-3 (NLT) “Then the LORD said to me, “Write my answer plainly on tablets, so that a runner can carry the correct message to others. This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed.””
And, for those who have seen my vision boards through the years, you’ve noticed patterns, and have sweetly stepped into excitement with me for all of the things to come to pass…and they haven’t all yet.
As much as I could be (and have been at times) discouraged by this, God has been reminding me how consistent I am (and what a benefit that is), and how consistent He is.
He is unwavering (and He’s outside of time), so that can make for some interesting conversations when I’ve expressed to Him that “I don’t really want to be desiring this thing anymore because it’s painful and I’m feeling sad” or “I’d really prefer to stop believing for this because having faith for it is exhausting me” and He simply reminds me that He will honor His word – and that it will not look like what I think. A very different answer than what I’d prefer (that He’d just make all the blessings I’ve been praying for appear), but an answer, nonetheless.
It’s almost as if He gets a kick out of planning such a scrumptious surprise for me that He’s not even letting my wildest imagination catch up to what He’s got up His sleeve for me! He’s going to go even above and beyond anything I could think, ask, or imagine (check out Ephesians 3:20 TPT). I can appreciate that, since I, too, love surprising people!!
That said, as much as I love to be surprised, it really does take it out of me to be eagerly anticipating for so long, with no end in sight. These last few months have taken a toll on me, and it’s big thanks to dear friends, lots of prayers, and epic worship playlists to keep me going when I’ve felt depleted.
