I killed it in 2019. And NOT in a good way. It was a year of unintentional death in my life, my business mainly, and I didn’t realize it until long after the fact.

You see, I hadn’t been actively trying to wage war against my own business. But I also wasn’t actively speaking life and taking massive action to build my business. Don’t get me wrong, I took a LOT of actions for my business in 2019, but I basically undid each action with my subconscious thoughts and the way I would talk about my business.

Here’s how this looked in my world: I wasn’t complaining outright (i.e. “my business sucks and won’t ever grow”) but I was killing it subtly (i.e. “my business isn’t growing like I thought it would”). What I’ve transitioned to this year instead is speaking life (i.e. “my business is growing and giving me so many opportunities to activate my creativity!”).

And you know what? It’s WORKING!! I’m currently on the verge of my biggest month EVER in my business (in the middle of a global pandemic! How’s that for God’s favor?!) and I would 100% not be here if I would have kept going with what wasn’t working in 2019.

It’s not too late to start fresh this year. Catch yourself when you’re “subtly killing” your life, and swap out those phrases/thoughts with life-giving ones instead!

It’s not an instant thing, but I’d rather see you focus on your mindset than on actions you’re gonna undo with your words. If your immediate thoughts are going to “how this may not work out” then I challenge you to up your mindset game! I challenge you to speak life over your life. Practice gratitude. Get clear on what your ideal day looks like so you can begin stepping into that.

But don’t stay complacent, and for goodness sake, DON’T murder your business by way of your words. It’s a slow, painful death, and you and your business are worthy of life, and life abundantly! We speak our reality, so decide the one you want and use your words accordingly!
