🤔 I get questionable looks from all of my sweats-plad girlfriends when I show up at 6:45am, fully dressed for the day + hair done + makeup on. I hear “Do you always look this put together?”
.
⛔ The answer is “No!! I definitely don’t…but it only takes 20 mins start-to-finish, so it’s not like I’m spending the first two hours of my day getting ready.” BUT, I spent many years of my life NOT showing up for myself, and I got sick of it. I used to wear the same sweats to bed that I wore to work (from home) for the day, and then to bed again, and I rarely left my home.
.
👑 Truth is, getting ready for my day became a way to show myself I’m HERE for my life. It peps me up for my day, even when I have those “don’t feel like it” days and it allows me to get creative with my fashion (which I love)!!
.
✅ Over the years, I’ve learned how to make getting ready SO EASY, and here are some of my top tips:
.
🧩I set my *entire* outfit (including shoes, accessories, undergarments, and how I’m going to wear my hair) out the night before – and if I have multiple events the next day, I make sure my entire outfit for each one is ready to go
🧩I heat my curling iron while I put my makeup on so it’s ready to go when I’m done
🧩I only curl the bottom of my hair, just to soften the ends, instead of trying to curly and coif my entire mane
🧩I let my eggs cook while I’m in the shower (for morning showers) so they’re ready when I get out, and eat them while I do my makeup
🧩To save time, if I know I have an extra early morning, I’ll shower the night before
🧩I intentionally practice “5-minute makeup” so I can simply apply it and go, without a bunch of fuss
.
And you know what I’m finding?
